Cop finds dead body in San Juan
The body of a San Juan man was found near the San Juan market early yesterday morning. Reports state that the body of 39-year-old Roger Tewarie was first noticed by market vendors who had gone to the market at about 4 am to set up stalls. The vendors reportedly paid little attention to the body, thinking it was a drunk man who had fallen asleep.
However, a Municipal Police officer, who had gone to the market to purchase goods some two hours later, also saw the man lying at the side of the market. When the officer checked the body and did not get a pulse, he alerted the San Juan Police, who visited the scene a short while later. The officers found on large abrasion to the left side of Tewarie’s neck. Curious residents who had come to view the body, identified the dead man as a known “piper” in the area. The body was viewed by the DMO and removed to the Forensic Science Centre where an autopsy will be conducted on Monday. CPL Kitson of the San Juan CID is continuing investigations.
