Man shot by gang members

Gang rivalry continued on Friday night and resulted in a Gonzales resident being shot. According to reports, 34-year-old Rodney Etienne of Thorne Hill Terrace, Gonzales was walking close to his home at about 8 pm when he walked past seven men wearing bandannas tied across their faces. Etienne told police officers he heard a loud explosion and then felt a burning sensation in his shoulder, after which, he realised he had been shot. Etienne, who was rushed to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital by persons who had seen the commotion, is said to be warded in a stable condition. Police officers investigating the incident said the shooting stemmed from an old feud between Etienne and a gang in the area. PC Marshall of the Belmont CID is continuing investigations.
