Road toll paid upfront

THE EDITOR: I read with interest Mr Kelvin James Sr’s letter captioned “Highway toll system a good idea”. Have we all forgotten that we already pay some five (5) percent extra on the cost of gasoline products as a road toll? Why are we now to pay additional tolls for the same bad roads? In a small country such as ours these toll booths will only serve to increase the traffic congestion and bottlenecks on our roads.

It will mean being more late for work than we already are. That will only lead to less productive time at our work places. The already high cost of living will sky rocket. Come on people, wake up. Have you ever passed through the Lincoln Tunnel in New York at peak hours? If you have you will know what I mean. If you have not, ask your friends and family. Destined to be poor and downtrodden.
