Stabbed student’s condition deteriorates
A 14-YEAR-OLD pupil of San Fernando East Junior Secondary school who was stabbed by a schoolmate is said to be in a serious condition after his left lung collapsed. Kyle Archibald, of Coconut Drive, San Fernando, who underwent emergency surgery, remains warded at San Fernando General Hospital where doctors and nurses are closely monitoring his condition.
A 15-year-old Form Three pupil has been charged with wounding with intent and is expected to appear before a San Fernando magistrate on Monday. According to a police report, Archibald was liming with his friends around 11.30 am on the school compound when he was confronted by an older pupil. The boy pushed Archibald who pushed him back. The pupil then whipped out a knife and stabbed Archibald in his chest and hand. PC Fortune of the Mon Repos Police Station is continuing investigations.
