Early morning robbery at Synergy

During the wee hours of yesterday morning, Synergy Entertainment Network located at Gordon Street, Port-of-Spain, was subject to an armed robbery. Managing director Peter Lewis and another member of the STV’s technical staff, Anthony Edwards, were held up at gunpoint, while a lone bandit robbed the premises of two desktop PCS, one laptop computer, two DVD burners, one camcorder and one cell phone.


In a media release yesterday, it stated that during the robbery the telephone lines were cut but Lewis was able to contact the CID arm of the police who quickly responded and the matter is now under investigation. Meanwhile, the planned launch of Synergy TV went on as planned, live on both TV and Synergy TV, CCTT 28 from 51 Degrees on Cipriani Boulevard.


Expected last evening were greetings to be brought from the Copyright Organisation of Trinidad and Tobago (COTT) via its president Allison Demas, Felipe Noguera of CANTO, and a foreign copyright official.
Also expected were live performances by Maximus Dan, Denise Belfon, Destra Garcia and Machel Montano, along with the showing of new music videos of a number of 2004 releases. The rock band Orange Sky was also listed to perform.
