Point Chamber: ‘Time to end strike’

The Point Fortin Chamber of Industry and Commerce is calling on the Government to demand that Bechtel officials and striking Atlantic LNG workers meet and discuss ways in which the overdue impasse between both parties could be resolved. In a statement, the Chamber expressed its disappointment in the perpetuation of the strike, despite its efforts to facilitate discussions between both parties.  According to the release, Chamber President Mayon Muray had met with representatives of both sides and was of the firm view that the workers were willing to talk.  The onus, he said, was now on Bechtel to respond in kind and discontinue its insistence that the workers must first return to work before meaningful discussions can take place.
