Bar patrons shot

FOUR PATRONS at a Freeport bar were rushed to hospital after being shot by an unknown gunman, police said yesterday. Investigators are yet to uncover the motive for the shooting which injured Terrence Baptiste, 25, Lily Khan, 20, Rosemarie Smith, 40, and Melissa Mookram, 23, all of Calcutta No 1 Settlement.

Their wounds were reported to be superficial and the victims were discharged from the Couva Health Facility after receiving treatment. The victims were liming at the bar at Upper Chickland, when loud explosions rang out around 2.45 am. The four only realised they had been shot when they felt burning sensations about their bodies. Baptiste and Khan were struck on their legs, while Smith and Mookram were hit on their upper bodies. PC Figaro of the Freeport Police is continuing inquiries.
