Woman chops dad of six to death
SOLOMON NARINE, a 39-year old father of six, was chopped to death while asleep at his Toco home on Monday night. His murder is the 65th for the year. A mother of 10 was detained by homicide officers and is expected to be charged with the murder. Reports revealed that around 4 pm on Monday, Narine and a woman returned from shopping in Sangre Grande. They had an argument and Narine went to a nearby bar in the area. He returned around 10 pm and another argument ensued. Narine later retired to bed and was chopped twice on the neck around 10.30 pm. The killer went to the home of a relative and telephoned the Toco police.
She reportedly told officers “Ah chop out the man neck, come for the body.” Officers from the Toco Police Station, led by Snr Supt Farouk Ghany, Inspector Edmund Thomas, Sgt John Ramdeen and including PCs Ken Lutchman, Alicia Lopez and Kevin Charles went to the scene along with District Medical Officer Dr Ali. The body was ordered removed to the Sangre Grande Mortuary. At the scene, relatives claimed that Narine and the woman had a history of domestic violence. They added that when Narine was sober, he was a pleasant person who took good care of his family. He was extremely close to his children Diamond 16 months, Johnatan, 2, Solomon, 4, Travis, 5, Crystal, 7, and Princess Sherry Ann, 9. The children are now staying at the home of their grandparents
