Mark: Arrest police for killing Morvant woman

OPPOSITION Senator Wade Mark yesterday called for the immediate arrest of the police officer who “murdered in cold blood” Morvant mother of two, Galene Bonadie. Speaking in the Senate during debate of the Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters Amendment Bill, Mark said his heart “pains and bleeds” over what he was convinced was a murder by the police. “He must be arrested and brought to trial and not be covered up.” Mark insisted that Bonadie was “killed at point blank range by an automatic rifle and they are covering up.

“We have an official death squad and the Minister of National Security has a lot to answer for.” He said the brutality must not be allowed to continue while the PNM pretended they “are fighting crime.” He said Bonadie was “defenceless and murdered in cold blood in a barbaric way.” Mark said she could have been his relative and extended condolences to the family. Bonadie was shot dead on Friday evening in Morvant by police who were on duty in the area. The matter is currently under investigation.
