New Grant man held with shotgun
A 44-year-old man is to appear before a Couva magistrate today charged with possession of arms and ammunition. According to police sources, a party of game wardens was on patrol along the Navet Dam in Tabaquite at around 11 am yesterday, when they saw a man alighting from a pirogue with a bag in his hand.
The man, who was acting suspiciously, was approached by the officers who searched him. The officers found a 16-gauge shotgun and six rounds of 16-gauge cartridges stack away in the bag. The New Grant man was subsequently arrested and taken to the Gran Couva Police Station where he was charged by game warden, EC Baney.
