TTUTA elections coming Oct 21

The Trinidad and Tobago Unified Teachers’ Association (TTUTA) has announced that their ninth triennial elections will be held on October 21. In a release, TTUTA said the six offices to be contested included president, first vice president, second vice president, third vice president, general secretary and treasurer. No member can be nominated for more than one office. Nomination Day is on May 28 and nomination papers will be accepted between the hours of 9 am and 6 pm, at the following TTUTA offices:

* Head office - Corner Fowler Street and Southern Main Road, Curepe.
* South office - 32 Donaldson Street, San Fernando.
* Tobago office - Glen Road, Scarborough, Tobago.

Nomination forms are available at the above listed offices. To be eligible, each candidate must satisfy the following criteria:

1. Each nominee must be in good financial standing for at least two years;
2. Each nominee must be endorsed by five members of the Association in good financial standing for at least two years;
3. Each nomination must be accompanied by a deposit of $200 which is refundable should the      candidate poll at least ten percent of the votes cast for that office; and
4. Each nominee should submit, together with his/her nomination form, two passport-sized photographs as well as a resume.
