Glen gets wife and a law degree

The ceremony was held yesterday at La Vega Estate, Gran Couva. The groom did not use the pair of crutches he used earlier this week to walk down the aisle. He, however, limped his way to his bride. The minister suffered a hairline fracture on his big toe after he slipped while running up the stairs of a building last Thursday.

He wore a white jacket with a pink shirt, blue tie and black pants while the bride wore a beautiful flowing white dress with a white fascinator.

Close to 20 people attended the wedding, no government officials were at the ceremony.

The ceremony lasted about 30 minutes. Presbyterian Rev Steven Harrypersad officiated at the ceremony. The couple is expected to have a larger ceremony on August 25.

On Thursday, Ramadharsingh, 41, completed his law degree after studying since 2009.

“I got my results today, and I’ve been awarded 2nd class honours from the University of London,” Ramadharsingh said.

He said he studied full-time for a year before entering government in 2010, and then received private tutoring over the last few years from the Institute of Law and Academic Studies, a private tertiary education institution in Chaguanas.

“I think this law degree opens my options,” Ramadharsingh said.

He said he has no immediate plans to pursue professional qualification which would enable him to practise as a lawyer. Instead, he plans to pursue a master’s degree.
