John Walker & Sons Voyager

This was announced during a media launch and lunch at Aioli Restaurant on Monday, by Kathryn Gray-Innis, AS Bryden & Sons Premium Beverage Division Reserve Relationship Manager with the Diageo Reserve portfolio.

Gray-Innis stated that the Voyager will be in Trinidad from February 4 to 11, 2014, then to Antigua, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Columbia, Venezuela and ends in Miami, USA, on April 7.

At each destination on this coming visit John Walker & Sons Voyager will play host to a series of high-profile Johnnie Walker Blue Label events and experiences that will celebrate each port’s own story of progress and innovation and recognise national game changers who embody the pioneering spirit and vision of the Walker family. The 183-foot luxury yacht that was featured in one of the James Bond films, previously visited Europe and Asia for the launch of John Walker & Sons Odyssey.

While in Trinidad Odessy will be officially launched aboard the Voyager. It is crafted from three rare, hand-picked, single malts that are carefully blended then married in European oak casks.

Expressly crafted by John Walker & Sons Master Blender Jim Beveridge, the unique blend is crafted to meet the more discerning and evolving tastes of those with a passion for modern luxury whisky.

Also aboard Voyager for the duration of the Caribbean journey, will be the intrepid Johnnie Walker and John Walker & Sons Global Brand Ambassador, Tom Jones, who will be on hand throughout the Voyager Journey to share and impart his unwavering passion and knowledge for whisky.

Odyssey is designed to stand upright when served on ships when sailing around the world. The bottle swings on the table but also within the pack itself, enabled by an ingenious rotating device, making it unique.

It takes on an appearance of dark golden tones that are deep, intense and sophisticated. Only 50 bottles of Odessy will be available in Trinidad and Tobago at a price of $1,000 USD or $6,400 TTD vat inclusive.

After giving the media a sneak peek of the Bottle of Odessy, Diageo local personnel and agents AS Bryden & Sons had guests sit down to a luncheon that included dishes infused with Johnnie Walker Blue.

It comprised appetizer, Johnnie Walker Blue Label glazed wild mushrooms with cheese croustades (Fried Baguette Slices) – garlic cheese croustades topped with exotic mushrooms cooked down with ginger; brown sugar and Johnnie Walker Blue Label, garnished with fresh watercress.

The main course comprised Salmon Marinated in Johnnie Walker Blue Label, filled with a dill and egg cream mousse over a chopped egg and a caper salad, Chicken in Apple and Johnnie Walker Blue Label Sauce – seared supreme chicken breast served with a Johnnie Walker Blue Label Apple Sauce with a touch of cream, accompanied with sauteed baby fingerling potatoes, yellow squash and green zucchini, and Beef in Johnnie Walker Blue Label Sauce – sauteed beef sirloin cooked down with a Johnnie Walker Blue Label cream sauce served with garlic mashed potatoes and Scotch glazed baby carrots.
