Cunupia man missing after quarrel over car

A 30-year-old man was believed to have been abducted in Cunupia Thursday night. Yesterday, officers of the Cunupia police carried out a futile search for Anthony Williams. An All Points Bulletin was sent out to all police divisions to be on the lookout for Williams’ car. Williams, of Las Lomas No 1, had an argument with two men who wanted to borrow his car. During the argument Williams was reportedly chopped, tied up and placed in vehicle PBO 3877, a white Nissan B-14. Up to late yesterday, Williams had not been found.

A report was lodged at the Cunupia Police Station and a party of officers led by acting Sgt Danny Ramlogan and including PC Simeon Guelmo and a police photographer went to the scene. Several persons were interviewed. Newsday learnt Williams borrowed the car from the owner of a car rental company. He was allegedly using the car to do “PH” work. Police investigators said arrests were imminent.
