Cops recover car after chase

TWO men who were held in separate incidents over the weekend after committing crimes will appear before a Tunapuna magistrate today. Around 8.30 pm Saturday, police responded to a flash-call of a stolen vehicle at Bhaggan Street in Champs Fleurs, and spotted the car in the Mt D’Or area, and a high speed chase followed. The chase ended in Santa Cruz, where a Laventille road, San Juan man was held. The vehicle’s owner, an account student, later walked into the station to make a report but was pleasantly surprised when he saw his vehicle and a man arrested. And around 12.30 am yesterday, responding to a report of two women held-up while awaiting transport on the Priority Bus Route near Gordon Street in Mt Hope, officers held a man in the Tunapuna area. He was later positively identified by the two women. A gun was also seized.
