Two killed in Belmont

Two  men were shot dead in what police described as a gang-related shootout last night in the vicinity of Fifth Dimension panyard at Upper Serraneau Road in Belmont. A third man, who was also shot, was reported in critical condition at the Port of Spain General Hospital. Dead are: Lloyd John, aged 57, and Leroy Small, also known as “Ochro”, said to be in his late 20’s. Hospitalised in critical condition is Akiel George, aged 27. All three are from Upper Serraneau Road. According to police reports John, Small and George, were ‘liming’ at the junction of Savvy Road, just outside a garage, not far from the panyard, when some men came up the hill on foot and opened fire on the group. Police believed that the killings were gang-related.
