Two held for assault on Sir Ellis
Two teenagers, 19 and 16, were placed on identification parades yesterday for the September 25 assault of former President Sir Ellis Clarke in Maraval, and several other robberies. Clarke and his driver were held up and robbed of an Audi car, cellphone and other valuables.
The two suspects were detained after a series of raids and exercises in Dibe yesterday by members of the Organised Crime and Narcotics Unit (OCNU), Guard and Emergency Branch, Canine Unit and St Clair CID. The exercise was led by Deputy Commissioner Glen Roach and Snr Supt Raymond Craig, head of the OCNU. Other officers included Supt Correia, ASP Edwards and Sgt Hackett.
