Central students held for robbing classmate
TWO Central Trinidad students were yesterday arrested by police and charged with robbing their 12-year-old Form Two schoolmate of $2. According to police reports, the boys, who are Form Four pupils, were up to late yesterday evening still under interrogation at the Freeport Police Station. The report stated that around 12.30 pm, the teenage boys, who attend evening shift classes, were on their way to school when they confronted Vishnu Seepersad, who was also on his way to attend the evening shift.
The report stated that the two boys demanded Seepersad hand over his money. Seepersad reportedly obliged, but as he continued walking to school, he flagged down a police vehicle passing near the school. PC Valdez and PC Figaro investigated Seepersad’s report and arrested the two boys. They were expected to be charged with robbery and taken before a magistrate, but up to late yesterday, the boys of Gosine Street, Bank Village, Carapichaima, and Lamont Street, Longdenville, were still in custody. Police said that they had to keep the boys at the station until a senior officer authorises bail.
