Chaguanas student charged for drugs

A Chaguanas Comprehensive School teenager became the third student to appear before a Chaguanas magistrate charged with possession of marijuana. On Friday morning at around 7.40 am, Maintenance Training Security (MTS) Woman Estate Constable Alexander searched the bag of the 15-year-old Felicity Village student and found a cigarette of unusual length and scent. The contents were later identified as marijuana weighing 1.1 gramme and valued at $10.

The teen was arrested, charged and taken before Chaguanas magistrate Nanette Forde John, where he was reprimanded and discharged. On the previous day, a teacher at the school entered a classroom around 12.45 pm and held another boy, 16, of Arena Road, Todds Road, smoking a cigarette of unusual length and smell. He was handed over to the security with a similar marijuana cigarette valued at $10. He also appeared before magistrate Nanette Forde John and was reprimanded and discharged.

On Tuesday morning at around 8.45 am, a 16-year-old student of the ASJA Boys Secondary School in Charlieville, was searched by security and a marijuana cigarette valued at $10 was found in a plastic bag in his school bag. The Form Five student of Hilltop Trace, Ravine Sabble Road in Longdenville, appeared before Magistrate Forde John later that day charged with possession of marijuana. He was also reprimanded and discharged.
