Dad of three gunned down in St James
A 27-year-old father of three was shot dead outside his Dibe, Long Circular Road, St James home on Friday afternoon. His murder is the 213th for the year so far. Police investigators believe that Lester Paulson was killed because he was trying to negotiate peace between two warring gang members. Homicide officers told Sunday Newsday that arrests are imminent.
According to reports, around 5.30 pm Paulson was at home when he had an argument with three men known to him. Several loud explosions were heard and the body of Paulson was found slumped with two gunshot wounds to the head. The body was viewed by a District Medical Officer who ordered the removal of the body to the Forensic Science Centre. Paulson’s relatives told Sunday Newsday that Paulson was not involved with any gang and had recently spoken sternly to some gang members about their display of guns to children of the area. They feel that he was killed by some gang members who were angry over his recent comments.
