Rhand ‘stands tall’ among credit unions

RHAND Credit Union took the lion’s share at the National Awards ceremony of the Trinidad and Tobago Co-operataive Credit Union League on Thursday night at the Hilton Trinidad. There were awards in six categories, which were further sub-divided into three categories each — small, medium and large. Rhand fell into the large category. In addition to being judged the most outstanding credit union over the last year, Rhand won the Best Performing Credit Union, Human Resource Development Award, Best Financial (Pearls) Award, an award for Most Improved Financial Performance and another for Most Outstanding Credit Union. In rating Rhand’s performance, the League said, “Rhand built a solid foundation for its employees and members and grew into a pillar of strength for the credit union community.”

According to the League, “With its strong people-oriented approach, it comes as no surprise that Rhand Credit Union has earned the award for the fifth consecutive year. “This accomplishment was no small feat, as over the past year, Rhand invested almost 9,000 hours in human resource development. “It also offered scholarships in excess of $100,000, more than twice the value of scholarships by other credit unions in this category.” It was also noted that in its commitment to to serve its membership efficiently, Rhand offered programmes in money management, financial planning, public relations, marketing, budgeting and much more. The League noted, “This credit union not only stands tall, but also taller than it was before and taller than all others. “This year, Rhand Credit Union demonstrated its ability, its gigantic capacity for both excellence and leadership.”
