Baker shot dead outside bakery

A 44-year-old baker was shot dead yesterday while standing outside his bakery at Quarry Street, Port-of-Spain. Police reports revea-led that Keith Ross was standing outside Har-lem’s Bakery around 10.30 am yesterday, when several loud explosions were heard. Ross slumped to the ground and was then rushed to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. A police party went to the scene where they recovered five spent shells from a .32 pistol. Residents of Quarry Street described Ross as a “people’s person.” They noted that he even delivered his bread to the people of Laventille, Morvant and surrounding areas. Many people were in tears over Ross’ killing yesterday and called on the police to bring the killers to justice.
