Scotiabank’s Anya Schnoor is new BATT president

BATT, on Friday, thanked its immediate past president, Darryl White, Managing Director, RBC Royal Bank (Trinidad and Tobago) Limited, “for his years of dedicated service.” Schnoor has more than 24 years experience in banking and investments.

She was appointed Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Scotiabank Trinidad and Tobago Limited on November 1, 2012, and to the board of directors on May 31, 2012.

In May 2016, her portfolio was expanded to include Scotiabank’s South and East Caribbean operations, providing oversight to the Country Heads of Guyana, Barbados, the Eastern Caribbean and Curacao.

Schnoor holds directorships on the Bank’s subsidiaries: ScotiaLife Trinidad and Tobago Limited (Chairperson), Scotia Investments Trinidad and Tobago Limited (Chairperson), Scotia SKN Limited, the Scotiabank Trinidad and Tobago Foundation and United Way Trinidad and Tobago.

Two other banking executives have joined Schnoor on the executive.

Nigel Baptiste, President and Chief Executive Officer of Republic Financial Holdings Limited and Managing Director of Republic Bank Limited, is the new BATT Vice-President while Karen Darbasie, Group Chief Executive Officer, First Citizens Bank Limited, is the new BATT Treasurer.

BATT is a non-profit organisation formed among the commercial banks to promote collaboration on matters of importance to the banking sector. Its mission is to play a core role in the growth and stability of the financial sector through advocacy and representation, and to facilitate the provision of the most competitive banking products and services to their customers with integrity and transparency.
