Central 500 Spartans upset leaders Barrackpore
They moved one spot from seventh to sixth after edging leaders Barrackpore United 1-0 in a Match Day Eight meeting at the Barrackpore Recreation Ground. Josiah Grazette got the winner for the visitors, in the 31st minute.
However, the University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) were unable to claim top spot as they fell to a 2-1 defeat away to Cunupia FC at the Ato Boldon Stadium, Couva.
Cunupia jumped one place to second while UTT dropped from second to fifth, on the nine-team points table.
J’Deem Parris found the back of the net for UTT in the 25th minute but Michael Yaw Darko evened the scores on the hour mark. And Stevon Stoute guaranteed full points for Cunupia when he got the game-clincher, in the 75th.
Youth Stars also had a climb on the standings, from fifth to third, after a come-from-behind 3-1 win over TT Prisons at the Cyd Gray Ground, Roxborough.
Ricardo Alleyne opened the scoring for Prisons in the 19th but the hosts rallied back in the second half, with three goals in the space of eight minutes.
Dillon Villafana equalised in the 50th before Hakeem Legall (53rd) and Henson Charles (58th) struck to seal the deal for Youth Stars.
Micah Lansiquot (fourth) and Kendell Baptiste (36th) got their names on the scoresheet as Carenage United whipped Petit Valley/ Diego Martin United FC 2-0 at the Diego Martin North Secondary School Ground.
