Valencia Lions await opponents for final
In an interview, Valencia Lions coach Matthew Williams highlighted the facts that his team trains often and that they are outfitted with players who play football in the Youth Pro League, Intercol and Secondary School Football League. Though not overconfident, he is mindful that his team’s toughest competitor (SP Boys) who finished second, has strengthened their squad he sees the “Lions” lifting the trophy. However, his opposing manager Tricia Gabriel of SP Boys stated that her boys are “coming for revenge” after they suffered a 5-1 defeat to Valencia Lions in their first game in the competition.
Organiser of the league Owen Khan stated “the league was strategically organised to run in such a way, that the youths will be occupied in a positive way during the vacation period”. When asked about the future development of the league, he added “what I will really like for the youths is to have lights on the field, so that we (Tamana) will be able to invite more teams and make the league more competitive”.
Adding to that he thanked the league sponsor ZNS Construction, for “investing into the youths, for sponsorship and commitment to the community of Tamana”.
The first play-off game will see third place (Tamana United) versus fourth place (Blu Magic), followed by which the winner will play SP Boys on Sunday 28 at 3pm on Guaico Tamana Recreational Grounds.
