Dad charged with incest

On Tuesday a report was made to the Gasparillo Police Station and police investigators transferred the matter to the Child Protection Unit (South). PC Sieupersad of CPU subsequently charged the father with the offence. The charge was laid indictably and so yesterday the accused father was not called upon to plea.

Magistrate Forde-John granted him $50,000 bail to be approved by a Clerk of the Peace and a cash alternative of $35,000. The magistrate warned the accused father to have no communication whatsoever with the teenager. She further prohibited him from entering the premises where the child lives. He is also to stay at least 500 metres away from the teenager.

The magistrate adjourned the matter to September 23.
