TTDF Chief hails war veterans
TRINIDAD AND TO-BAGO soldiers who died in various theatres of combat in World Wars I and II, were hailed as heroes who fought to preserve noble ideals such as justice and honour for future generations. This commendation was made by TT Defence Force Chief of Staff, Brigadier Ancil Antoine, as TT joined other Commonwealth nations in observance of Remembrance Day last Sunday.
In a statement to the surviving veterans, An-toine said, “On this sombre occasion, we at the TTDF join with you in remembering past friends and loved ones, who gave their lives for God and country during World War I and World War II. “At a time such as this, we reflect on the experiences of this by-gone era and the sacrifices made by these noble men who fought so gallantly to preserve justice and honour. We would also like to take this opportunity to salute those of you still with us,” he added.
