PM cools it in Tobago
Prime Minister Patrick Manning will spend the long Divali/Eid weekend in Tobago, but his presence in the sister isle has nothing to do with the Landate issue or the imminent THA elections, political sources stressed. It is expected, however, that the PNM’s political leader would meet with officials who will take the opportunity to bring him up to date with what is planned for the election campaign, as well as review the party’s chances in the THA elections.
PNM sources noted yesterday that the PNM has never been wiped-out in any Tobago election because it has always had hard-core support. Now that it is at the peak of its political power, the source said, it is unlikely that the party would lose any support in the THA. Sources said the PM will be relaxing for the mostp part and talking a little about politics. Manning returns to Trinidad on Monday afternoon.
