Couple shot - man killed, woman critical

Police said that as Renaldo Weade and Denecia Paula Matamoro sat in the car, gunshots rang out and residents telephoned the police. Officers arrived at 8 pm to find Weade dead in the car while Matamoro was lying nearby bleeding from gunshot injuries to her head. She was rushed to Portof- Spain General Hospital where she was treated and remains warded. Weade of Caiman Road, St Joseph was taken to the Forensic Science Centre for autopsy.

Police are hoping they could secure surveillance footage from CCTV cameras of nearby homes where the shooting took place to help identify the killers. For the year so far, 371 murders have been recorded. Investigations are continuing.
