EMA promises to take care of foul smell

Sea Lots residents have been assured that the Environmental Management Agency was working towards a “speedy resolution to the problem involving the stench in the area.” Speaking to Newsday yesterday, Alicia Charles, Corporate Communications Manager of the agency explained they have been meeting with the Parana Fish Processing Factory to discuss the concerns of the residents and was hoping the situation would be brought under control in the very near future.

Charles explained that contrary to residents’ views, the EMA “does care” about the situation and the welfare and well-being of the residents. Residents have been feeling that “no one cared about the situation, since it has been that way for a long time and no one had done anything about it.” Charles explained that the EMA had been aware of the situation for a while and had been investigating the situation, in an attempt to resolve it. She assured that the organisation was not “asleep at the wheels” and was working with the best interests of residents at heart. Attempts to contact Barana proved futile.
