Plumber chopped to death in Laventille
A 17-year- old Laventille plumber died early yesterday after being chopped in the head and other parts of the body. His murder is the 233rd for the year so far.Compared with the same period last year 199 persons were murdered. According to police, around 1 am yesterday, Jeremy Timothy of Sandy Trace was at his wooden shack a short distance from the home of his grandmother Luteen Boyce. He was pulled out of the shack by members of a gang who tried dragging him into some bushes. Timothy struggled with the men who chopped him in the head, hands and feet. Timothy however, managed to crawl to the home of his grandmother and began crying out for help. Theo Boyce, his uncle, who was asleep at the time, ran outside to see Timothy bleeding profusely wounds.
Boyce told Newsday he tried to stop the flow of blood while administering CPR. The grieving man said he managed to stop the bleeding and advised Timothy to recite the Lord’s Prayer. He was also advised to make peace with God and ask for forgiveness for all his wrong deeds. Timothy died shortly afterwards. Officers of the Besson Street and Morvant Police Stations were alerted and visited the scene. The body was removed to the Forensic Science Centre. Rela-tives of the dead teenager said he was often seen liming with other teenagers of questionable character. They added that as far as they were aware, Timothy was not involved with any gang, but they cannot put their heads on a block to defend this. Police were unable to establish a motive for the killing, but said the killing was gang related.
