Brother stabs brother
Dillion appeared before Senior Magistrate Nanette Forde-John in the San Fernando Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
A charge that he maliciously inflicted grievous bodily harm on Christopher, with a kitchen knife, was read by the magistrate to Singh. He was not called upon to plead. The charge stemmed from an incident at their home last Thursday, in which Christopher was stabbed with a ten-inch knife on the shoulder.
Court prosecutor PC Cleyon Seedan told Magistrate Forde- John the brothers lived in the same house.
Christopher, Seedan added, was still warded at the San Fernando General Hospital in a satisfactory condition.
He underwent surgery as a result of the injury, the court heard. Forde-John granted Dillion bail in the sum of $75,000 to be approved by the Clerk of the Peace. As a condition to bail, Forde-John ordered that the accused not live at the house where his brother resides.
He is to stay 100 metres from him and not to communicate or cause to make contact with Christopher.
Attorney Indira Binda told the magistrate that Dillion would be residing instead, at Temple Street, Papourie Road, Diamond Village.
The magistrate granted Dillion a cash alternative of $7,000 as a substitute for the bail. Singh will reappear on November 24.
