Waste to put forward ideas for better TT

The letter was published and must have been read by many then in the corridors of power.

Many decades have since passed and Port-of-Spain is now worse than ever and still our politicians have taken no real action to upgrade our capital.

I have been writing to the media for over 25 years about the failure of our politicians to do something about our security and crime in general. No one takes any notice of citizens like myself complaining about noticeable wrongdoings and a lack of general improvement to the lives of citizens.

In the past decades things have gone from bad to worse and we still have politicians here making promises they can’t or never will fulfil.

Ordinary citizens here are treated like mugs and remain targets for our evil murderers and masterminds of corruption.

Treasury funds are still being squandered at the expense of ordinary citizens. Poverty is on the rise and this has brought all its associated evils such as more crime, murders and kidnappings.

We are simply getting nowhere because those in the corridors of power and in positions of authority think they know what is best for the nation. They need to pay particular attention to our record since our independence and to the voices of citizens crying in the wilderness.

All we have really achieved are more overnight millionaires, many by means of corruption who are still unable to explain how they obtained their vast wealth.
