Teens charged with cultivating marijuana

The teens, aged 14, 15, 16, 17 and 18 were allegedly held in a marijuana field located off Arena Road, Freeport by officers of the Central Division Task Force during an anti-crime exercise in the area on Wednesday. PC Kristian Khan of the Central Division Task Force laid the charges against the youths.

Approximately 350 marijuana trees were allegedly uprooted and destroyed. The boys have been described by police as school dropouts.

Magistrate Joanne O’Connor adjourned the matter to December 8.
