Mother of two dies after fire rescue

Festus managed to grab his two daughters and rescued them from the burning house. However, he was unable to remove his wife due to the intense heat and flames. He also claimed that due to the weight of his wife, he was unable to pull her to safety. By the time fire officers arrived at the scene, the house was already engulfed in flames. Fire officers however, were still able to rescue Dhanmatie, who reportedly suffered first degree burns and smoke inhalation.

She was rushed to the EW MSC where she suffered a heart attack while being treated for burns to her hands and feet. She died shortly after 1 am. The cause of the blaze remains uncertain but Radhu lost everything in the fire. The victim was the aunt of a media worker.
