Friend chops friend to death
The suspect, also 46, a gardener, was arrested in the Manzanilla area, ten hours after the brutal chopping incident.
According to reports, at around 6.45 pm on Friday, Christopher Francois was washing a car in a driveway at Shirvan Drive, Sangre Chiquito, when he was accosted by his best friend. The two began arguing over Francois’ decision to wash the vehicle in the driveway.
Following the heated argument, the suspect went to his vehicle, took out a sharpened cutlass and dealt Francois several chops about his legs. The killer then fled the scene.
A party of officers, led by Insp Ken Lutchman and including Sgt Maharaj, from the Homicide Bureau, PCs De La Rosa, Cielto, Henry and others along with Homicide and crime scene officers and a District Medical Officer visited the scene. The body was viewed and ordered removed to the Sangre Grande mortuary.
Sunday Newsday understands the suspect was seen driving along the Manzanilla Road, ten hours after the murder, resulting in a highspeed chase. The suspect was eventually nabbed and handed over to the Homicide Bureau.
Friends of Francois and the suspect said they never expected him to carry out such an evil act.
Residents of Sangre Chiquito said in this country, it seems that there is no regard for human life.
