WPC to be buried tomorrow
AN AUTOPSY by pathologist Dr Hug-hvon Des Vignes revealed that WPC Rayne-Ann Murray died of a broken neck. The 30-year-old mother of one, of Les Coteaux, became Tobago’s sixth road fatality for the year when the grey station wagon in which she was a passenger, collided with a black Nissan B13 Sentra on the Claude Noel Highway on Saturday afternoon. According to police reports, at around 4 pm, both vehicles were travelling west along the Claude Noel Highway when the driver of the B13 attempted to make a right turn and was hit by the wagon.
The occupants of both vehicles were rushed to the Scarborough Hospital where WPC Murray succumbed to her injuries. The others are reported to be in satisfactory conditions. Shocked colleagues were still trying to come to terms with Murray’s death. She had been attached to the E999 unit for the past four years. They said Murray was well respected and loved by all who knew her. She will be buried at the Les Coteaux Public Cemetery following a service at the St Thomas Anglican Church tomorrow at 2 pm. Cpl Mark of the Old Grange Police Station is continuing investigations.
