2017 Road Series pedals off Sunday
The top six cyclists in the open category will receive points as follows: nine, seven, five, three, two and one. All other categories will receive points for the top four cyclists as follows: five, three, two, one.
The 72.4km course will officially start at the Port of Spain Lighthouse, South Quay heading east along the Beetham and Churchill-Roosevelt Highways then south along the Uriah Butler and Solomon Hochoy Highways. The race will exit at the Couva/Preysal Flyover to enter onto the northbound lane of the Solomon Hochoy Highway.
The race will then continue north along the Solomon Hochoy and Uriah Butler Highways then west along the Churchill Roosevelt, Beetham and Audrey Jeffers Highways where the race will finish at the Mucurapo Foreshore Lookout.
The Road Series, which will comprise five races, is a qualifier for the national team heading to the Elite Pan American Road Championships later this year.
The second Road Series race will take place on January 22, followed by the third on January 28, fourth on February 4 and fifth on March 5.
