Nobody denied chemotherapy

Deyalsingh also said that patients can access chemotherapy at health facilities in St James, Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex at Mt Hope and in Sangre Grande.

The minister indicated that he will be taking a note to Cabinet to reconsider how to treat with pharmacists and pay their allowances. Deyalsingh said this was not done under the former People’s Partnership government in 2012 and 2013. He added it was regrettable that some people have decided “of their own free will” not to access treatment at St James, Mt Hope or Sangre Gande. Deyalsingh said it would be for the South West Regional Health Authority to determine whether it would provide transport to patients who want to receive chemotherapy at any of these locations.
