RBTT boss: See opportunity in volatility

A senior official of RBTT’s corporate banking arm says local companies should position themselves to capitalise on the burgeoning energy sector. Roger Mike, Assistant General Manager, Corporate Banking, RBTT Bank, said that extraordinary favourable market conditions are now driving this industry. “That there is much volatility, but where there is volatility there is also much opportunity,” he said. He was speaking at the  LNG, Oil and Gas Conference which took place at the Hilton Trinidad and Conference Centre last week.

At the two-day event, organised by the United Kingdom based IBC Global Conferences in association with Energy Caribbean magazine, participants were apprised of the latest regional developments in the energy sector. Mike, who chaired this year’s event, indicated that “the industry is potentially rewarding to investors and financiers but only to those who are able to properly manage its various risks.” He emphasised RBTT’s willingness to work with local and international enterprises in managing such risks.
