Mom begs for abducted son

“All I want is for my son to come back home alive. Give me my son please, I am begging.” Freeport mother Kamlawtie Siew, 52, made this plea yesterday, two days after occupants in car abducted her first-born son Ravi Anthony, 34.

The whereabouts of Anthony, who was on his way home from seeking employment on Sunday, remained a mystery up to last evening.

Siew, a mother of 14, lives with her son at Commonwealth Drive off Nelson Road in Freeport.

Reports are that on Sunday at about 11 pm, Anthony and his cousin Kevin Mahabir, were walking to their respective homes when the driver of car pulled alongside them at Lime Fruit Road.

The report added that the male occupants exited the car and the cousins started to run.

The occupants snatched Anthony, threw him in the car and sped off. Mahabir escaped unhurt and since then the family has not heard from Anthony.

Wiping away tears, Anthony’s mother said she must undergo an operation for kidney problems at month end and he is the one to care for her.

“He is the one to take me to the doctor.

Ravi is staying here to see about me. No one called us or anything.

“Every day we are calling the phone and we are not getting an answer.

“It is going straight to voice mail. I know he is alive. I got hiccup and when I called his name, it stopped,” the mother said.

A relative, who asked not to be identified, said that the cousins went to seek employment in the area where a house is under construction.

On their return, they drank some beers and were returning when the incident occurred.

Relatives reported the matter to the Freeport police. Anthony was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and grey long pants.
