Kidnapped man found dead

At 12.35 pm, Moonsammy and one of his workers Stephen Sooknanan were at a job site, a house under construction at Eliza Gardens in Madras Road, Cunupia, when they were accosted by two gunmen.

They ordered Moonsammy and Sooknanan to hand over cash and their cell phones. Moonsammy complied but Sooknanan told the bandits he had neither cell phone nor cash. They ordered Moonsammy back into his black Nissan Navara van and left with him, leaving Sooknanan behind.

He later made a report to Cunupia police and officers of the Anti- Kidnapping Unit were alerted.

Police led by Inspector Guelmo later found Moonsammy’s van at Sou Sou Lands. During a search of the area near the van, the officers found Moonsammy’s body.

The body was removed to the Forensic Science Centre in St James.

No arrest has been made.
