The tournament winners pockets S15,000 and the losing finalists $5,000.
Other incentives are available for allrounders and fieldsmen who are selected from the top cricket clubs in Tobago.
The major sponsors of Ultimate Allrounder Cricket Challenge 2017 are National Lotteries Control Board, Bmobile, First Citizens and THA (Tobago House of Assembly).
Here is a look at two of the expected participants - Rayad Emrit and Jahron Alfred.
RAYAD EMRIT Rayad Emrit, an allrounder who bowls medium-pace, received his big break when he was included in the West Indies squad for a One Day International (ODI) tour of India a few months before the 2007 World Cup. Although he has not commanded a regular place in the Windies set up, Emrit has become a senior member of Trinidad teams in all forms of cricket.
He excels in the T20 format. In the single wicket format, Emrit competed in the 2009, 2014 and 2016 competitions. He is in top form now and is expected to go further in the Tournament when it bowls off on Saturday.
JAHRON ALFRED Jahron Alfred hails from Tobago although he has played Premiership Cricket in Trinidad for most of his career. He has represented clubs such as University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT), Moosai Sports Club and presently Central Sports Club, who recently lost to Queen’s Park in the National T20 Final at Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba.
He is a genuine all-rounder who opens the bowling with pace and accuracy, whilst being a capable batsman who can bat anywhere in the top six.
Alfred is a fierce competitor who has been on national trials on numerous occasions and he continues to work hard to attain his goal of playing at regional level.
In the 2016 Singlewicket Competition Alfred enjoyed some home support, he impressed by getting to the semi-final, losing to the eventual champion Mark Deyal.
