1 holiday for all

Words uttered by some of our public figures appeal to their ethnic base and issues are politicised during their addresses.

I believe the time is right for us to consider removing these two public holidays and replacing them with a holiday reflective of our plural society — a day celebrating all ethnic groups including the First Peoples. This would help foster a greater sense of national unity.
