Praise for PM on call for the removal of OAS head
His failings include his overweening confidence in the Minister of Finance, whom he insists on appointing to act as Prime Minister in his absence.
The minister was a failure in the ministry in which he had alleged competence, and is even worse in Finance, but the Prime Minister continues to put him to act, almost as an act of defiance.
His implicit condonation of the purchase of a company destined for closure by its former owners (their own admission) by a majority State-owned corporation, apparently without the knowledge of the Corporation Sole, is inexplicable.
However, he earns considerable plaudits for calling a spade a spade and demanding the removal of the OAS secretary general for his lack of discretion in his intemperate rantings against a prominent member country of the organisation, instead of seeking to introduce a measure of diplomacy as he is required to do.
His public statements reek of the position of the challengers to Venezuela President Nicolas Maduro, who are pursuing their own agenda, as they have every right to do without interference from external sources.
The Venezuelan people are seeking a Venezuelan solution to their issues, but keep coming up against interference by people who do not know or care about the country’s well-being.
