First Citizens accepts computer science interns

This 12 week program is geared towards driving innovation within the organization as well as providing an opportunity for more holistic training for the students. “We have invested in each of you, we take our business seriously and we take you seriously”, was the main take-away from the interns’ orientation at which several of the Group’s top-level managers introduced the team to their respective business units, and entrusted them with the responsibility of designing solutions for their strategic goals.

While the interns will be mentored by a special First Citizens team Dr Permanand Mohan and a small team out of the UWI Department of Computing & Information Technology will work alongside First Citizens ICT staff in supervising the student-interns’ projects. Cohort 1 has been accepted into the First Citizens family which demonstrates the Group continued commitment to youth development and education.
