Guaya remain top of League One in Super League

Guaya have 19 points, while Defence Force are next on 15 – the Army/Coast Guard combination ended FC Santa Rosa’s unbeaten run courtesy of a 2-0 victory at the Arima Velodrome.

Jamaal Goodridge opened the scoring for Defence Force in the 39th while Josimar Belgrave extended their advantage in the 45th.

Chase Sealey netted in the 45th as Police edged Cunupia FC 1-0 at the St James Barracks, while ex-national midfielder Michael- Lee Celestine scored a pair, in the 10th and 14th, as WASA got the better of cellar-placed 1976 Phoenix FC 2-0 at the WASA Ground, St Joseph.

Siparia Spurs had a narrow 3-2 win over Bethel FC at the Palo Seco Recreational Ground.

Getting their names on the scoresheet for Siparia Spurs were Darius Peters (fifth), Chris Collins (57th) and Dwayne Edwards (77th), with Densyl James (20th) and Tee Jay (35th) replying for Bethel.

At the Grand Chemin Recreation Ground in Moruga, Club Sando Moruga and the University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) played to a 2-2 draw.

Kyle Morgan (third) and Marcus John (10th) gave the hosts a 2-nil lead before Dillon Bartholomew responded for the visitors, in the 30th and 45th.

In League Two action on Saturday, Prisons FC moved to the top spot after a 3-0 licking on Harlem Strikers at the Youth Training Centre (YTC) Ground in Arouca.

Finding the back of the net for Prisons FC were Anthony Parris (fifth), Barry Carrington (39th) and Kwesi Jeffrey (87th).

Perseverance Ball Runners overcame Petit Valley/Diego Martin United 4-2 at the New Settlement Recreation Ground, Caroni.

Jamal Lucas (seventh), Rick Lyder (39th), Denzil Daniel (73rd) and Glenwell John (75th) scored for Perseverance Ball Runners, while Ishaq Abdullah (70th) and ex-national midfielder Keron “Ball Pest” Cummings (90th) replied for Petit Valley/Diego Martin United.

In another high-scoring affair, Central 500 Spartans and Youth Stars battled to a 4-4 draw at the Edinburgh 500 Recreation Ground, Chaguanas.

Donovan Derrick (17th, 53rd and 75th) and Keith Williams (46th) were on target for the Spartans, while Youth Stars got items from Kevon Woodley (10th, 27th and 84th) and Zikomo Denoon (45th).
