Labour leaders nothing but jilted lovers
The disappointment with the Prime Minister and the remarks made on the platform mirrored those of a jilted lover who promises domestic violence.
The PM has until 2020 to do whatever they want before they slap him and the People’s National Movement. Licks and more licks in the polling booths.
Pure political domestic violence at the general elections because the PNM government is not managing the resources to ensure that the collective unions always get whatever they demand. The signed MOU with the PM is like a marriage certificate that needs careful re-examination.
In this country where image is everything, I looked at big men talking who should know better about being unnecessarily vulgar. An insult about someone’s outward appearance is scraping the bottom of the barrel regarding intelligent humour.
Vulgarity is the biggest turnoff if you are attempting to sway public opinion in your favour. An important reason why no trade union movement can attract enough voters to run TT . The Movement for Social Justice (MSJ) can dream no further than a toe hold in local government.
The threats to boycott big business (pure Carnival midnight robber talk) will send fear into the hearts of their thousands of employees (eg Massy/Ansa McAL) who will have to be retrenched. These unemployed will have no money to pay union dues.
The reality is that the “oneper cent people” can close their businesses anytime they feel like it and take their “rigs” and go. There are other islands in the Caribbean who will want them.
So, boycott them nah? Think about it. Even a caveman could tell you that it would take 50 years to diversify the economy.
