CRUSHED ON TOW TRUCK
According to reports, Shiraz Mohammed of Barrackpore, who is the owner of Shaz Wrecking Service, was assisting the driver of a Mercedes Benz SUV whose right front tyre had blown out when the driver of a silver Nissan Wingroad drove into them pinning them on the wrecker.
Mohammed died on the scene and the other driver was taken to hospital where he is said to be in critical condition.
Police took the driver of the Wingroad to the Chaguanas Police Station for questioning.
Eyewitnesses said Mohammed’s body was pinned on the tray of his truck while the body of the person he was assisting was found beneath the tyres of the truck.
Contacted yesterday, Mohammed’s wife was too distressed to speak, but said he was a hard-working family man with two young children.
Several of his employees were on the scene of the accident.
