Laventille man is murder victim No 40

A Laventille man is the nation’s 40th  murder victim for the year, after he died at the Port-of-Spain General Hospital on Tuesday. He and his wife were shot while at their home on Monday night Michael McMillan, 40, died around 5 pm Tuesday after he was  shot in his back. His common-law-wife Leota Rocke, 20, who was also shot in her hand, was treated and discharged. According to reports, the couple was at their Wharton Street home in Laventille, at about 9.30 pm on Monday night, when three masked men rushed in and started shooting. 


The couple attempted to run but was shot. Investigations revealed three men were seen in the area earlier  looking for a relative of McMillan. Police believe the shooting is linked  to the  murder of Adrian Williams, who was shot dead on Saturday morning on Espinet Street, Laventille, when he went to purchase a cigarette.
